Financial literacy is an important set of money management skills and we have many activities available for our students each semester. The activities consist of on-campus and virtual workshops, money management modules, and campus events.

What We Do:

Spreads awareness and implements strategies designed to increase financial literacy of PSC students. We also increase awareness within the PSC community, in order to continuously improve persistence, retention, and graduate rates, as well as improve the financial health of the community at large.


Money Matters Week – Planning and implementation of second annual Money Matters Week, with activities on all three campuses. Activities included: essay contest, student panels, faculty contest, BBVA/Compass Bank and Financial Aid workshops, library displays, and an online scavenger hunt.

Community Partnerships – Oversight and support for expansion of Money Matters project to include local Judges’ financial literacy project, and inclusion of Money Matters on Aim High Escambia website.

FCS Grant – Support implementation of Florida College System Foundation’s Financial Literacy Grant, awarded to PSC in 2012, with purchase of new financial literacy platform, Transit.

Academic Financial Literacy incorporation – Support all classroom financial literacy activities, including Public Speaking, English, Business, and Adult Education.
