Taco Salad


This is a recipe I have been eating and making since I was a little girl. My mom (Alma Scott) came up with this one day and it’s one of our families favorite go-to snack/dinners. It’s simple, cost efficient and super easy to make. Enjoy!!

Grocery List:
1lb. Ground Beef
Bag of Tortilla Chips (I use white corn tortilla chips, but any kind works)
Shredded lettuce (you can get it pre-shredded in the bag salad section)
Bag of Shredded Mexican Blend or Cheddar Cheese
2 Bottles of Catalina salad dressing

Cooking Instructions:
In a large skillet/pan cook ground beef, stirring occasionally until brown and no longer pink. Remove from heat and allow to cool once cooked. Dump tortilla chips, lettuce, and cheese into a large bowl. Once beef is cooled add it to the tortilla mixture, pour one bottle of the Catalina dressing into the bowl with ground beef and tortilla mix. With a spoon stir in dressing until everything is well coated. Serve immediately or put in fridge to cool and eat later. Serves about 5, Depending on the amount of chips in the bag you may need to add a little more dressing.
