Free Stuff in Pensacola, Florida


summerSaving your money does not mean your life has to be boring! Here is a list of FREE events in the Pensacola Area this summer:

1. Free Concerts– Enjoy live music by the water with Bands on the Beach on Tuesdays, in a historic park on Thursdays with Evenings in Olde Seville Square, and in the Maritime Park Amphitheater on Sundays. Bring a picnic and some lawn chairs to enjoy a nice, inexpensive evening with friends, family or a special someone!

2. Free Art – Gallery Nights light up Downtown Pensacola on the 3rd Friday of the month! Art Galleries are open. Local businesses display the works of local artists and offer light refreshment. And you can enjoy live music in the streets. Or, check out the Quayside Gallery, which features local artists and is always free.

3. Free History – Visit the Arcadia Mill in Milton or Fort Barrancas at NAS. Admission is free at both places.

4. Free Aviation This is probably only news to the new faces in town – but be sure to take advantage of free admission to the Naval Aviation Museum.  If you happen to be down there on a Wednesday at 11:30am, you can watch the Blue Angels practice and even meet the Pilots after practice! Of course, there are also two free airshows in Pensacola – July 12 and November 8 – 9.

5. Free Education – If you are in to looking up… check out the Escambia Amateur Astronomers’ Association Stargazing nights, plus other Ranger-Led programs at the National Park. Volunteers set up telescopes so you can get a close encounter. There are also many summer reading programs for kids, check them out here.

6. Free Movies – Several theaters are offering free matinees this summer, including Breeze Cinema 8, Ridge Cinema 8, and Saenger Theater. There are also free Drive-Ins at the Maritime Park.
